Mexico Publishes Telecom and Broadcasting Law
 The President of Mexico issued the Law on Telecommunications and Broadcasting on July 16, 2025. The new Law repeals the previous Federal Law on Telecommunications and Broadcasting, and came into effect on July 17, 2025. The Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFETEL) will remain functioning for the next month during this transition period as Comisión Reguladora en Telecomunicaciones (CRT) is formed and functions are transferred to CRT and the Agencia de Transformación Digitaly Telecomunicaciones (ATDT).

Indonesia Komdigi Prepares a Draft Decree on LTE and IMT-2020 Technical Standards Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital (Komdigi) of Indonesia published an announcement on July 8, 2025 about the Draft Decree on Technical Standards for Telecommunication Equipment and/or Mobile Telecommunication Devices based on LTE technology standards and IMT-2020 technology standards. This Draft Decree aims to improve Decree No. 352 of 2024, and includes updates such as adding working frequencies in the 2.6 GHz band for LTE and IMT-2020 technology; adding repeater technical standards based on IMT-2020 technology standards; and including working frequency, output power, output RF spectrum, ACLR, OBUE, spurious emission, and blocking characteristics in the parameters of technical standard requirements. The Draft Decree is open for comments until July 17, 2025.

 Direktorat Jenderal Infrastruktur Digital (DJID) of Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital (Komdigi) in Indonesia held a public awareness session on July 14, 2025, on the Draft
 ;Technical Standard for Broadcast Radio Receivers. The presentation outlined technical requirements on power supplies, electrical safety, EMC, radio frequency, early disaster warning features, and functionality. It also shared information on testing methods, transition period, and the conditions that will change once the technical standard comes into effect.

Indonesia DJID Opens Public Consultation on Telecom Equipment List
 Direktorat Jenderal Infrastruktur Digital (DJID) of Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital (Komdigi) in Indonesia has opened a public consultation on July 7, 2025, on the Draft Decree concerning the List of Telecommunications Equipment that must meet Technical Standards.
 This Draft Regulation includes the list of telecommunications devices and devices with telecommunications features that must meet certain technical standards, which is compiled based on the harmonization system code according to law and regulation provisions.
 Telecommunications devices and devices with telecommunications features that are not listed in the Draft Regulation will still be required to meet technical standards. The Draft Regulation will come into force 30 calendar days from the date of stipulation. The consultation will be open for comments until July 20, 2025.

India TEC Extends Acceptance Deadline of ILAC Test Reports for MTCTE
 The India Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) published a Notification on June 26, 2025, announcing that ILAC Test Reports from non-border sharing countries will be acceptable until December 31, 2025 for technical parameters for certain products. These Test Reports should be no older than 2 years from the date they were submitted to the MTCTE Portal.

Telecom Certification Rules Changed in 2025
 The India telecom certification process underwent a major transformation on May 16, 2025, when the Ministry of Communications introduced a new framework under the Telecommunications Act, 2023. The update, titled the Telecommunications (Framework to Notify Standards, Conformity Assessment and Certification) Rules, 2025, replaces outdated procedures from the Indian Telegraph Rules, 1951.
