Lebanon: Responsibility for Type Approvals Transferred to TRA
The Lebanese government has reassigned responsibility for the approval of telecommunications and radio equipment.
The responsibility has shifted from the Ministry of Telecommunications (MoT) to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). All future certifications will be handled by the TRA. Existing approvals will also fall under TRA oversight.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan published Resolution No. 66 on February 17, 2026, which postpones the implementation date of the Technical Regulation on Limiting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical Engineering and Radio electronic Products. The Technical Regulation will now come into effect on February 17, 2027.

IMDA has previously issued the Draft Technical Specification for Cellular Mobile Terminal (IMDA TS CMT Issue 1 Rev 4) for public comments on early of February.The document includes updates to three key requirements:
• Added Cell Broadcast Service (CBS) requirement;
• Added requirement for mobile terminals to remove connectivity to 2G networks by default; and
• Additional reference standard for lithium batteries.Lithium batteries used in Cellular Mobile Terminals must comply with one of the following safety standards:
• UL 1642
• IEC 62133
• IEC 60086-4

India DoT Publishes LPI and VLP WAS/RLAN in Lower 6 GHz Band Rules
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) of India issued a notification on January 20, 2026, announcing the publication of the Use of Low Power and Very Low Power Wireless Access System, including Radio Local Area Network in Lower 6 GHz band (Exemption from Licensing Requirement) Rules, 2026. These Rules apply to the 5925-6425 MHz frequency band, and are now in effect. Low Power Indoor (LPI) devices have a max EIRP of 1 W, and Very Low Power (VLP) outdoor devices have a max EIRP of 25 mW.

Vietnam Issues RoHS Regulations for Electronic Products
The Government of Vietnam issued Decree 26/2026/ND-CP, the regulations outlining implementation guidance for the Law on Chemicals, on January 17, 2026. The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Vietnam has also published Circular 01/2026/TT-BCT based on Decree 26/2026/ND-CP, which lists the chemicals that must be declared in electronic products.

Indonesia DJID Clarifies 6 GHz RLAN Device Test Report Requirements
Direktorat Jenderal Infrastruktur Digital (DJID) in Indonesia issued an official letter on January 13, 2026 communicating updates regarding submitting information related to 6 GHz RLAN Device testing. Starting January 15, 2026, 6 GHz RLAN Device Test Results Reports may be issued by domestic telecom equipment and/or telecom equipment test centers, or test centers for telecom equipment and/or foreign telecom equipment that come from a country with an MRA with Indonesia.

Colombia ANE Allows Flexible Use of 900 MHz Band
The Agencia Nacional del Espectro (ANE) of Colombia published a press release on February 12, 2026, announcing Resolución N° 28/2026, which updates the National Frequency Band Allocation Table (CNABF) to allow for more flexible use of the 900 MHz frequency band. Previously reserved exclusively for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT), the 900 MHz band will no longer be limited to that designation.
The updated band plan applies to 896–915 MHz (uplink),941–960 MHz (downlink).The new allocation supports mobile and fixed radio communication services under an FDD configuration. Permitted channel bandwidths are 1.4, 3, 5, 10, and 15 MHz.

Trinidad and Tobago Aligns Spectrum with ITU 2024 Regulations
The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) has officially published Version 4.0 of the Trinidad Frequency Allocation Table (8.3 kHz–3000 GHz) in January 2026 . This update reflects alignment with the latest ITU Radio Regulations, Edition 2024, incorporating outcomes from WRC-19 and WRC-23.According to the official document, the Trinidad Frequency Allocation Table (TTFAT) serves several core objectives:
• It specifies the usable frequency ranges for radio services in accordance with the ITU Table.
• It identifies categories of radio services and the bands in which they may operate.
• It outlines detailed permissions and conditions for frequency band use within Trinidad and Tobago.
Moreover, the updated version incorporates revisions from both the 2020 and 2024 Editions of the ITU Radio Regulations. The document also includes ITU footnotes and Trinidad and Tobago (TT) footnotes to address national spectrum requirements.
